Use a Store add-in to add new tools or features to Office. Get an Office add-in. Select Insert > Store. In Outlook, select Home > Store. Browse the list of Office Add-ins or search for one in the search box. Select an add-in to learn more about it. Select Add or Buy for the add-in you want.

Use an add-in while composing a message. Create a new message or reply to an existing one. From the ribbon, select the Message tab, then choose the add-in you want to use. If the add-in doesn’t appear in the ribbon, select Apps to view your installed add-ins.

Click the drop-down menu on any email message in Outlook.com, and then select Get Add-ins or select More apps in the app bar and select Add apps. On the Add-ins for Outlook page, select the add-in. For free add-ins, click Add .

In Outlook, click File > Manage Add-ins. In Outlook Web App, click Settings > Manage add-ins. Under Manage add-ins, in the Turned on column, select the check box for the add-in you want to enable. Learn how to enable an app for Outlook.

You can use the new web Office Add-ins in most of the Office 2016, Office 2019, and Microsoft 365 applications. Select a heading below to open it and see the detailed instructions.

When you select the Import Settings option during setup, the web add-in counterparts of your existing COM add-ins in classic Outlook for Windows are installed in the new client. The following table lists the applicable COM add-ins and their web add-in counterparts.

Add-ins for Outlook for Mac are programs or utilities that help you automate tasks or add new features when you view or create messages. Microsoft has partnered with leading companies to build add-ins that help you get things done right from your inbox.

If an Office add-in isn’t showing up in the Office Add-ins list, refresh the list to see all of your add-ins. In Word 2016, Excel 2016, or PowerPoint 2016, click Insert > My Add-ins. In Project 2016, click Project > My Add-ins. Then click Refresh to update the list in the Office Add-ins dialog.
