You can use any phone number that can receive text messages; it doesn’t need to be associated with your account. We won't use or give out the phone number, and the code sent to it will expire after 10 minutes.

On the PC you’re sharing from, select Start , and then select Settings > System > Nearby sharing .Choose whether you’d like to be able to share and receive files with everyone, or only your own devices (where you are logged in with your Microsoft account).
