The new Outlook for Windows will launch into the account you have set as your default send account in Outlook. If Outlook can't sign you in automatically, manually type in the account and sign in. If this is the first time you're switching to the new Outlook, you'll be prompted to bring over your settings from the classic Outlook for Windows.

In Outlook, you have the option to: Attach a file | Upload a locally saved file to your OneDrive | Insert a picture into the body of a message | Attach an email item | Solve problems with attachments. Attach a file to an email message in new Outlook. New Outlook keeps track of the files you have worked on recently and suggests them whenever you decide you want to attach a file to an email message.

To invite someone who isn't on your contact list, select Invite someone to help you. Follow the instructions. To give help if someone has requested it: Go to the search box and enter remote assistance, then select Invite someone to connect to your PC and help you, or offer to help someone else.

If you don't see a setting you're looking for, try searching for it in the search box on the taskbar. Open Display settings. Most of the advanced display settings from previous versions of Windows are now available on the Display settings page. Select Start > Settings > System > Display.

Next to Make Microsoft Edge your default browser, select Set default.

In Outlook, the message recipient can decline to send read receipts. There are other scenarios where read receipts are not sent, such as if the recipient's email program doesn’t support read receipts. There is no way to force a recipient to send a read receipt. Select a tab option below for the version of Outlook you're using.
