Smart App Control adds significant protection from new and emerging threats by blocking apps that are malicious or untrusted. Smart App Control also helps to block potentially unwanted apps, which are apps that may cause your device to run slowly, display unexpected ads, offer extra software you didn't want, or do other things you don't expect.

How do I configure it? To configure potentially unwanted app blocking go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > App & browser control > Reputation-based protection settings.. There you'll find a control that lets you turn potentially unwanted app blocking off, and select if you want to block apps, downloads, or both.

Important: You don't need to remove old security information unless there is an account security risk (e.g. someone else has access to your old mailbox).
