An upgrade differs from an update in that it moves your PC from a previous version of Windows—such as Windows 10—to Windows 11. This FAQ is intended to answer questions about upgrading to Windows 11.

When you get a new device and start up Windows 10 for the first time, the antivirus protection that comes installed with the device is your default security app.

1. Sign in with your Microsoft account. You will be prompted to Sign in with Microsoft account. If you have an existing Microsoft account on your mobile device then you will be asked to confirm your account, then click Continue.. If you don't have an existing Microsoft account on your mobile device then you will be asked to sign into your account or create a new one, then click Continue.

Next to Choose where to get apps, select one of the available options.To see recommendations, select Anywhere, but let me know if there's a comparable app in the Microsoft Store.. To stop seeing app recommendations, select Anywhere.

Notes: Meeting recordings won't capture whiteboards, annotations, shared notes or content shared in the stage view by apps, and also won't include videos or animations embedded in PowerPoint Live presentations.

Learn how to use Remote Desktop in Windows. On your Windows, Android, or iOS device: Open the Remote Desktop app (available for free from Microsoft Store, Google Play, and the Mac App Store), and add the name of the PC that you want to connect to (from Step 1). To pin Quick Assist to your taskbar so you can quickly get back to it, after Quick Assist is open, right-click (or press and hold) the icon on your taskbar > Pin to taskbar. If the old app icon still appears on your device, make sure you select the new app icon.

Note: If you forgot your account info and had to reset your security info, you must wait 60 days before closing your account.

If you want to give access to desktop apps, make sure that Let desktop apps access your microphone is turned on.You can't turn off microphone access for individual apps. Others can't hear me. Try the following solutions:
