Get Help has troubleshooters you can run for many common scenarios. These often help resolve issues without the need to contact support. If a troubleshooter is available for your issue, select Start to run that troubleshooter.
Available Windows troubleshooters
Get Help has troubleshooters, or diagnostic tests, that can check your system configuration for anything that might be causing issues using your devices.
Audio troubleshooter
Use the audio troubleshooter if you experience issues with sound on your computer.
- Open the Get Help app.
- In the Search
bar, enter audio troubleshooter. - If asked to consent to proceed with diagnostics, select Yes .
- Allow a few moments for the scan to complete.
- Follow prompts or steps until issues are resolved.
Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) troubleshooter
Use the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) troubleshooter to help fix issues with the BITS service
- Open the Get Help app.
- In the Search
bar, enter Background Intelligent Transfer Service troubleshooter. - Follow the steps provided.
Bluetooth troubleshooter
Use the Bluetooth troubleshooter if you are having problems connecting to a Bluetooth device.
- Open the Get Help app.
- In the Search
bar, enter Bluetooth troubleshooter. - Follow the steps provided.
Camera troubleshooter
Use the camera troubleshooter if you have issues with your device's camera.
- Open the Get Help app.
- In the Search
bar, enter camera troubleshooter. - Follow the steps provided.
Network and internet troubleshooter
Use the network and internet troubleshooter if you are having difficulty connecting to the internet or other network.
- Open the Get Help app.
- In the Search
bar, enter connect to network and internet. - Select Run network diagnostics.
- Complete any troubleshooting steps provided until you can connect successfully.
Printer troubleshooter
Use the printer troubleshooter to resolve issue connecting to a printer or other printing issues.
- Open the Get Help app.
- In the Search
bar, enter printer troubleshooter. - Follow the prompts to scan for printers and troubleshoot your configuration.
Program compatibility troubleshooter
Use the program compatibility troubleshooter if you experience program compatibility issues.
- Open the Get Help app.
- In the Search
bar, enter Run the Windows Program Compatibility troubleshooter. - Follow the steps provided.
Video playback troubleshooter
Use the Video playback troubleshooter to help diagnose videos that are not playing correctly.
- Open the Get Help app.

Windows Media Player troubleshooter
Use the Windows Media Player troubleshooter for issues with Windows Media Player.
- Open the Get Help app.

Windows Update troubleshooter
Use the Window Update troubleshooter if you experience issues trying to update your Windows version.
- Open the Get Help app.
- In the Search
bar, enter windows update troubleshooter. - Follow the steps provided.
View troubleshooter results
After you run any troubleshooter, Get Help provides details on any findings and suggestions for possible remedies. If one of these resolves your problem, close the app and continue working.
