Applies ToMicrosoft Word 2010

Summary

This article describes the issues that are fixed in the Microsoft Word 2010 hotfix package that is dated September 7, 2012.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • When you run the Activedocument.TransformDocument Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) function in a Word 2010 document that contains grouped images, the function fails, and you receive the following error message:

The linked image cannot be displayed. The file may have been moved or deleted.

  • Assume that you save a document that contains comments as an .xps or .pdf file in Word 2007. When you change the orientation of the document and then view the print preview of the document, the whole document is not displayed.

  • Assume that you publish a Word 2010 document that contains images as a blog on a SharePoint site by clicking Launch blog program to post. When you add another image to the blog post and then republish the blog, the new image replaces the existing images.

  • Assume that you use Word 2010 to open a document from a network location. Additionally, assume that the document contains footnotes, and you select the Show all formatting marks and Show text boundaries check boxes in Word 2010. After the document is saved automatically, some content in the document is displayed incorrectly. For example, lines in the footnotes are duplicated or are not displayed.

  • Unauthorized users can copy and paste content from an Information Rights Management (IRM)-protected email message in Microsoft Outlook to a Word 2010 document.

  • Assume that you insert a Math-Type equation at the midpoint of the baseline of some text in Word 2007. Additionally, assume that you save the document as a .docx file and then open the document. When you move the position of the mouse pointer to the right side of the equation, the pointer moves automatically to the line below the text.Note When you save the document as a .doc file, this symptom does not occur.

  • When you use a custom citation that uses the Extensible Style Sheet Language (XSL) format in Word 2010, you cannot apply superscript and subscript formatting to text.

  • Assume that you have a .docx file that contains multiple pages, and the pages use different page sizes. When you view the print preview of the document in Word 2010, the pages that use a narrow page size flicker in the print preview window.
