What is a customizable template? 

A customizable template is a tool you can apply to certain sections of an AI-generated note in Dragon Copilot. It can include text formatting, instructions to include or exclude certain information, and other personalizations to help the section come out more consistent and aligned with your style and workflow.

Notes: 

  • A template applies to a particular section of Dragon Copilot note. Templates are available for History of Present Illness, Allergies, Physical Exam, Results, Procedure, and Assessment and Plan sections.

  • The features and functionality available to you may vary based on your organization's configuration, language settings, and whether you are using the web, mobile, or desktop app. Contact your organizational admin to confirm feature functionality availability.

Dragon Copilot's customizable templates have many benefits:

  • Save time: Reduce the amount of editing needed and simplify your documentation process. 

  • Adapt to your workflow : Use default templates or create your own to match how you document.

  • Allow personalization: Use templates to have a note section look and feel the way you want it.

  • Enable flexibility: Apply templates on demand or set them to run automatically.

  • Support consistency: Use templates to help maintain consistent documentation across your organization.

As with all AI features in Dragon Copilot, the AI supporting customizable templates is built on a responsible AI framework, ensuring a foundation of trust.

Where can I use a customizable template?  

  • Customizable templates can be personalized and used across all the Dragon Copilot platforms: mobile, desktop, and web

  • A template applies to a particular section of Dragon Copilot note. Templates are available for the History of Present Illness, Allergies,Physical Exam, Results, Procedure, and Assessment and Plan sections.

    • Dragon Copilot provides you with a default template for each of the six sections mentioned above. You can use the default template, modify it, or build your own. 

    • Once you design and save a template, you can apply it on demand or set it to auto‑run, which will automatically update its associated note section.

Important: Customizable templates utilize generative AI, making it difficult to predict how the AI will perform in every scenario. It is essential to review the generated content to ensure it aligns with your expectations, then make any necessary edits.

How to use customizable templates

  1. Select your primary medical specialty.

  2. Try the default customizable template in any of the six supported sections.

  3. Edit the template as needed to fit your workflow.

  4. Use the tips provided in the Edit customizable templates section to guide your customization.

  5. As you get more comfortable, explore advanced options—such as creating a template library with multiple options for a section.
