Use a screen reader to manage your account devices

This article guides you through navigating the Microsoft account dashboard to manage your devices with your keyboard and a screen reader.

Open Microsoft account dashboard

Go to account.microsoft.com and sign in to open your Microsoft account dashboard.

Manage your account devices

Navigate through the Devices menu item in the navigation landmark to manage your account devices. You can add and remove devices linked to your Microsoft account. 

Add a device to your account

  1. Press the Tab key until you hear “Devices menu item” and press Enter.

  2. Navigate to the Register Device button using the Tab key and press Enter. It opens Register device dialog.

  3. Enter the serial number of your device and navigate to the check box, I accept the terms of the privacy statement and press Enter to select.

  4. Press the Tab key until you hear "Confirm button" and press Enter to add the device.

Notes: 

  • If you already have active devices, then navigate to Register a new device button and press Enter to add a new device. 

  • To find serial number of the device, navigate to Select the device dropdown using the Tab key and press Enter. Then select your device and model number to find the serial number. 

Remove a device from your account

  1. Navigate using the Tab key until you hear the name of device you want to remove in the Devices dashboard. Then press Enter to expand the drawer element.

  2. Press the Tab key until you hear “Remove device button” and press Enter. A “Remove your device” pop-up opens.

  3. Navigate to the check box, I’m ready to remove this device and press Enter to select.

  4. Press the Tab key until you hear "Remove button" and press Enter to remove your device.
