If you've created and sent a Pulse with Viva Pulse, you can view and share the feedback results if you have met the minimum number of responses required to see feedback. This number is set by your admin.

View feedback results

Important: If you are not receiving notifications, please see Enable notifications and work with your tenant admin to enable notifications in your tenant.

You'll be notified when your Pulse has closed. Then you can access the feedback report using one of four methods:

  • Select the Teams Activity feed notification that your Pulse has closed.

  • Select View results from the Teams Chat notification.

  • Select View results from the email notification.

  • Select the corresponding feedback request card from the Viva Pulse homepage My pulses section, under the Pulses sent tab.

Review Pulse report summary page

Screenshot of Pulse feedback report

The Pulse report summary page will have the following sections:

  • View how many users responded to the Pulse request, both as a percentage and a count.

  • Select View all under Who you invited to view the list of feedback providers for the Pulse request.

  • Select Resend pulse to resend the Pulse request.

Important: If you do not meet the minimum number of responses required, you cannot view scores or responses for any question, and any responses received will be deleted. You can still view the number of feedback providers invited and how many responses were received. You can resend the Pulse request by using the Resend pulse option.

If you meet the minimum number of responses required, you'll see the following sections and recommended next steps:

  • View the average score for each rating question, along with the trend change from the last time the Pulse request was sent.

  • View top suggestions for each multiple-choice question based on how the responders selected the multiple-choice options.

  • View the number of responses received for each open-ended question and select the comments link to open a dialog containing all the open-ended responses. This applies to both multiple-choice and open-ended questions.

Complete post-survey actions to discuss the feedback results with other users in your organization:

  • Select the Share results button at the top or bottom of the report summary page.

  • Facilitate a conversation with your team about the feedback results by selecting the Discuss option in the Review discussion guide section at the bottom of the report summary page.

  • We recommend that you resend the Pulse every 4-6 weeks to track your team's progress over time by using the Resend pulse option at the top of the report summary page.

For any rating question that has a follow-up multiple-choice question, select the question row and see the detailed view for that question.

  • View how the score for the question has been trending over time by hovering over a specific point in the trend graph.

Note: To view trends for a question, you must resend the same Pulse request and not edit the question. If you choose to send a new Pulse request from the Viva Pulse homepage or edit the existing question instead of resending the same Pulse request, the score trend view will not be generated.

  • View the favorability scores for the question. Responses with a score of 4 or 5 are positively favorable. Responses with a score of 3 are neutral. Responses with a score of 1 or 2 are negatively favorable.

  • View the corresponding multiple-choice responses for each follow-up question by seeing which options were most selected by feedback providers, shown in decreasing order of popularity.

  • View any open-ended responses that may have been provided as part of the follow-up multiple-choice question.

  • View any recommended learning content for the selected question. The learning course will open in Viva Learning. Note that to view the recommended LinkedIn Learning content in Viva Learning, please ensure that the corresponding admin configuration is enabled.

Share feedback results

There are three methods to share the Pulse report if you meet the minimum response threshold:

  • Select Share results from the Pulse report.

  • Select the Share button on the corresponding feedback request card from the Viva Pulse homepage My pulses section, under the Pulses sent tab.

  • Select Copy link under Share results on the Pulse report to send a link to the report to the shared report viewers. Only users who were added as shared report viewers can access the shared report from this link.

Follow these steps to share the Pulse report:

  1. Select shared report viewers from individuals and groups. You can also select Add all Pulse recipients to add all Pulse recipients you want to share your Pulse report with.

  2. Add a personal note and then select Share.

Sharing the feedback results will trigger Teams Activity feed, Teams Chat, and email notifications to the shared report viewers for them to review the team’s feedback results.
