To turn on DirectX 12 for Windows Subsystems on your PC, you'll need capable drivers for your graphics processing unit (GPU).
Note
If Improved graphics processing is turned on in Windows Subsystem for Android™ settings, you've already installed the needed drivers and don't need to take further action.
Check your GPU manufacturer
If you don't know which GPU your device has, here's how to check:
Select Start, enter Device Manager, then select it from the list of results.
Select Display adapters to show the available GPUs in your device.
GPU options will start with the manufacturer name. Common manufacturers include AMD, Intel, NVIDIA, or Qualcomm.
If you have more than one GPU available, download the drivers for the one you want to use with the Subsystem. We recommend choosing the most performant GPU available on your device.
Download and install GPU drivers
Drivers that support the Windows Subsystem for Android and mobile apps are available directly from the GPU manufacturer. Once the drivers are installed, the Subsystem will automatically detect that your device can support DirectX 12 on Windows Subsystems and you can use the best graphics experience for your device.

Note
You might need to restart your PC after updating your GPU driver.
