Configure microphone buttons in Dragon Copilot
Use this article to configure microphone buttons for dictation and voice commands when your microphone supports programmable buttons.
Microphone button settings let you control how supported microphone buttons behave in Dragon Copilot. Availability depends on the microphone you're using.
Before you begin
- Connect a microphone that supports programmable buttons.
- Sign in to Dragon Copilot on your workstation.
Note
Microphone button settings aren't available in the Dragon Copilot mobile app.
Open microphone button settings
You can access microphone button settings from Microphone settings:
- In Dragon Copilot, select the microphone icon
, or select Settings
. - Select Microphone.
If your microphone supports programmable buttons, button configuration options appear.
Enable microphone buttons
To use microphone buttons in Dragon Copilot, turn on button support for the selected microphone in Microphone settings.
Dragon Copilot applies button settings to the current platform (web or desktop) and saves them for future sessions.
Enable buttons when a supported microphone is detected
If Dragon Copilot detects a configurable input device connected to your workstation, it displays an alert indicating that microphone buttons are available but not yet enabled.
This alert appears only when a supported microphone with programmable buttons is detected.
Select Enable buttons to allow the buttons on your microphone to control actions in Dragon Copilot.
What microphone buttons can do
When enabled and supported by the device, microphone buttons can be used to:
- Control dictation
- Trigger Dragon voice commands
Button behavior depends on the microphone model and how the device exposes its buttons to the system.
Notes
- If your microphone doesn't support programmable buttons, the Microphone settings won't show button options.
- Button configuration applies only to the Dragon Copilot platform you're using (web or desktop).
