Certain MSN partners can use the Video uploader tool to upload their content. Follow the steps below to get set up.

How to upload video via uploader tool

Before uploading, please ensure that your videos are valid, working, and free of issues such as stuttering or getting stuck, glitching, and authentication or download issues. Double-checking that videos and caption files are in working condition will also help reduce recurring issues.

Upload screen of the video uploader tool with instructions to drag and drop videos or select to add.

  1. Log into your MSN Partner Hub account and click Upload videos in the menu on the left. The Video uploader tool will appear.

  2. Use the Choose files button to locate the video you would like to upload or drag and drop the files into the uploader window.

    1. You can upload up to 200 videos at a time.

    2. MSN supports MP4, MPG, MPEG, AVI, MOV, WMV, and M4V files up to 2 GB per video.

    3. Large files, such as 4K videos and longer videos, may fail ingestion.

  3. Enter the Video title, Description, and Category. You may attach a thumbnail image if you like.

    1. Thumbnail images can be up to 20 MB in PNG, JPG, or GIF format, and must be at least 150 x 150 pixels in size.

    2. Remember to input the video's canonical URL to enhance your video visibility.

  4. Ensure your video URLs have file extensions in a format such as .mp4, rather than .mp4. Videos that do not have file extensions will fail ingestion.

  5. Click Submit and wait for the tool to finish uploading your video files. The time it takes to upload will depend on the size of the video batch. We strongly recommend keeping the page open to monitor your upload status and ensure that all videos upload correctly.

Newly uploaded videos will be reviewed by the MSN content moderation team.

All your videos will appear on your Content management dashboard.

Manage videos

All of your approved videos are listed on your MSN Partner Hub dashboard chronologically, with the most recent video appearing first. You can also find your videos by navigating the menu on the left sidebar, under Content management > Content

You can edit the metadata information for any unpublished, draft, or rejected video in your library. Titles, descriptions, and other metadata are editable, but the video file itself cannot be edited once it is uploaded.

If you would like to make changes to the video file itself:

  1. Delete the old version

  2. Edit a new version in your video editing software of choice

  3. Upload it as a new video.

Note: The video will need to pass moderation again before it can be displayed on your page.

Check publishing status

You can check the status of all your posts in the Content tab on your MSN Partner Hub dashboard. All is the default view, which shows all of your content chronologically regardless of type, but you can use the Videos tabs to filter to that post type.

Check video feed status

You can access information about the status of your video feed via the Feed tab on your MSN Partner Hub dashboard.

You can also view details about the technical failures affecting your feeds and can use this information to debug your feeds.

  • Failure type may be related to your Feed, affecting everything you post, or your Content, affecting only one specific post.

  • Source ID will be provided if the failure affects a specific post

  • Time is the first time and last time the issue has occurred

  • Count is the number of times the issue has occurred

  • Action allows you to view details in the side panel
