Office Agent is no longer available in the Microsoft Copilot app

Access to Office Agent is no longer available in the Microsoft Copilot app. For new work, you can start directly in Copilot to create content and get things done in one place. If you previously used Office Agent, your existing files and tasks were not migrated. You can continue to access your content directly from the standalone Office Agent experience. We understand that customers use Office Agent to get work done and create content, and we want to help answer common questions about this change.

Frequently asked questions

What is changing with Office Agent in the Copilot app?

Office Agent is no longer available in the Copilot app. For new work, you can use the experiences available directly in the Copilot app to create content and get things done.

As of November 2, 2026, the Office Agent launch points in the Copilot App will direct users to recommended experiences within the Copilot App instead of opening the standalone Office Agent experience.

Why is Office Agent moving out of the Copilot app?

Microsoft is simplifying the Copilot experience so that you have a more consistent place to chat, create content, and get things done.

Who is affected?

This change affects customers who access Office Agent from the Copilot app. Office Agent is currently available to customers who have a Personal, Premium or Pro account and use the Copilot app in Web, Windows, and Mac.

What should I use for new tasks?

For new work, use the Chat and Cowork experiences available directly in the Copilot App. Depending on your Microsoft 365 subscription, available experiences and usage limits may vary.

Are my Office Agent files and tasks moving to the new Copilot experience?

No. Existing Office Agent files, artifacts, task history, and workflows are not being migrated as part of this change.

How do I access my previous Office Agent work?

Go directly to Office Agent and sign in with the account you used with Office Agent. You can use the standalone experience to access your existing files and tasks.
