ISSUE:

When you attempt to edit or insert the Organization Chart Add-in within Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, you experience an error:

"Cannot open this object because the Organization Chart Add-in for Microsoft Office programs is not installed."

IMPACTED BUILDS:

  • Current Channel: Version 2403 (Build 17425.20138) and later.

  • Monthly Enterprise Channel: Version 2402 (Build 17328.20282) and later.

  • Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel (Preview): Version 2402 (Build 17328.20282) and later.

  • Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel: Version 2308 (Build 16731.20636) and later.

STATUS: BY DESIGN 

Microsoft removed the Organization Chart Add-In for Microsoft Office programs due to lack of sufficient Unicode support.

Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS) acknowledges the recent changes and is actively exploring potential workarounds for customers who rely on this add-in and are impacted by the issue.
