The model number identifies the type of device you have. You may be asked for the model number of your Surface Duo if you contact Microsoft Support.
The IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number is a unique 15-digit code on your Surface Duo. It identifies your specific device to your mobile carrier when you’re connected to their mobile network using the SIM card in your Surface Duo.
Do the following:

Tap Settings, and then tap About.

Look under Model & hardware to find the model number of your Surface Duo.
