When you select the Import Settings option during setup, the web add-in counterparts of your existing COM add-ins in classic Outlook for Windows are installed in the new client. The following table lists the applicable COM add-ins and their web add-in counterparts.

Outlook add-ins provide solutions to help you better interact with Outlook and complete tasks on your messages and appointments without leaving Outlook. Some add-ins are installed by your email administrator, but you can install other ones from the Office Store. Select a tab option below for the version of Outlook you're using.

Select Add Account, select a suggested account from the dropdown menu or enter a different email address, and select Continue. If prompted, enter your password for the account and select Done. In the Email accounts section, find the account you want to delete or manage, and then beside the account name, select Manage.

From the Overview page, select Office apps and on that page, find the Microsoft 365 product you want to install and select Install. To install Microsoft 365 in a different language, or to install the 64-bit version, use the dropdown to find more options. Choose the language and bit version you want, and then select Install.

Open any Microsoft 365 application (such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint). Select File > Account. There are two settings here that can cause Copilot to not appear in your Microsoft 365 apps. First confirm that Experiences that analyze your content is turned on. Then scroll down and make sure that All connected experiences is turned on.

Add-ins provide optional commands and features for Microsoft Excel. By default, add-ins are not immediately available in Excel, so you must first install and (in some cases) activate these add-ins so that you can use them. Some add-ins are built in to Excel, such as Solver and the Analysis ToolPak.

You can now get Office Add-ins from the Store or use add-ins you already have from right within recent versions of Word for Mac and Excel for Mac. There are two kinds of add-ins: Office Add-ins from the Office Store (which use web technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript) and add-ins made by using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).

If you need time to modify your workflow to unblock add-ins using one of the methods above, you can choose receive an additional warning for Excel XLL Add-ins that come from untrusted locations after choosing to enable them.
