Symptoms

The Enable-MailUser cmdlet mail-enables an existing user in Active Directory by adding certain attributes. These attributes are required by Microsoft Exchange. When you run the Enable-MailUser cmdlet in Exchange Management Shell on a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 server, the value that appears in the msExchVersion attribute is stamped incorrectly. The attributes is stamped with the version number of Exchange Server 2007 instead of the version number of Exchange Server 2010.

Note If you run the Get-MailUser cmdlet against the target user in Exchange Management Shell, you find the following information about the msExchVersion attribute:

ExchangeVersion : 0.1 (8.0.535.0)

The expected result is as follows:

ExchangeVersion : 0.10 (14.0.100.0)
