Share your Microsoft 365 Family or Premium subscription
Microsoft 365 Family and Microsoft 365 Premium subscribers can share subscription benefits with up to five other people in their family group by sending an email or copying & sharing a link.
Important:Â
-
Sharing is not available in Microsoft 365 Basic or Microsoft 365 Personal subscriptions.
-
Once the invitee has accepted the sharing invitation from the subscription owner, the invitee automatically becomes a member of the subscription owner's family group.
-
Sharing is only possible if the invitee remains in the subscription owners' family group.
-
If invitees are already in another family group and try to accept the sharing invitation, they will see a message that they are already a member of another family group. They would need to first leave that family group before re-accepting the sharing invitation from the subscription owner.
-
Extended storage options and AI features like Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are only available to the subscription owner and cannot be shared with additional family group members.
-
Do not share your Microsoft 365 Family or Microsoft 365 Premium product key. Product keys cannot be used for sharing your subscription; please use the steps below to send an email or link to each person you want to share with.
Troubleshooting
Sharing is only possible if the invitee joins the subscription owners' family group. If the invitee is already in another family group, they will need to leave it to join the subscription owners' family group.
Once the invitee has joined the family group, then the subscription owner can share the Microsoft 365 Family or Microsoft 365 Premium benefits.
