Set up Link to Windows on your Honor, Samsung, or OPPO device
You'll need your PC (running Windows 10 or 11) and your HONOR, Samsung, or OPPO device to be nearby — both turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
On your PC, do the following:
- In the Search box on the Windows taskbar, type Phone Link and then select the Phone Link from the search results.
- You’ll be asked to sign into your Microsoft account. Make sure to use the same account on your PC that you're signed in with on your Honor, Samsung, or OPPO device.
- Follow the instructions to finish linking your devices.
Staying connected while your device is closed or folded
The Phone Link and all its features will continue to work as long as your device is turned on and connected to the internet.
How to link your devices
You'll need your PC and your HONOR, Samsung, or OPPO device to be nearby — both turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
If you start from your PC:
In the Search box on the Windows taskbar, type Phone Link and then select the Phone Link from the search results.
If you have an eligible Honor, Samsung, or OPPO device, Link to Windows should already be installed on your device. To proceed, select I have a supported phone in the Phone Link on your PC, and then click Continue.
You'll be asked to sign into your Microsoft account. Make sure to use the same account on your PC that you're signed in with on your Honor, Samsung, or OPPO device.
Once you are signed in, you'll be guided to a page that offers you to open the Link to Windows app on your device. You can also find Link to Windows by swiping down from the home screen on your Honor, Samsung, or OPPO device.
On your device, open the Link to Windows app, and then continue to the QR code scanner in the app.
Go back to your PC, and then select Pair with QR code.
Note
If you want to pair your HONOR device without using a QR code, select the "Pair manually" option on your PC. On your device, you'll be prompted to enter the code displayed on your PC.
A QR code will appear on your PC screen. On your HONOR device, the app should be opened to a screen with a camera symbol. Use this screen to scan the QR code displayed on your PC.
Once your devices are successfully linked, your HONOR device will prompt you with several device permissions. These permissions allow you to access content from your device on your PC.
If you start from your Honor, Samsung, or OPPO device:
Due to the PIPL (Personal Information Protection Law) requirement in China, you'll need to give consent to proceed with the following:
- Swipe down from the home screen and then find in Quick Settings. Alternately, go to System settings > More connections > Link to Windows.
- Open the Link to Windows app and wait to be prompted to scan a QR code displayed on your PC. To get to it, open https://www.aka.ms/linkphone in a browser on your PC.
- On your Honor, Samsung, or OPPO device, use the Link to Windows app's camera to scan the QR code displayed on your PC.
- Once your devices are successfully linked, your Honor, Samsung, or OPPO device will prompt you with several device permissions. These permissions allow you to access content from your device on your PC.
How do I scan the QR code?
If you've started linking your devices from your PC, you'll be asked to scan a QR code during the setup process. Tap the Is the QR code on your PC ready? prompt, and then select Allow to let the Link to Windows app take pictures and record videos.
You can now use the app to scan the QR code.
My PC isn't listed in the menu of available devices
Your PC should be nearby, turned on, and signed in with your Microsoft account. This should be the same account that you signed in with on your HONOR device earlier in the Link to Windows setup process.
If you've done this, but your PC still isn't shown in the list, try turning your PC off and on again, and then begin the linking process again from your HONOR device.
My QR codes don't match, and I can't link my phone
For security reasons, more than three failed attempts to match the codes on your PC and Honor, Samsung, or OPPO device will automatically prevent you from being able to link your devices.
Close and reopen the Phone Link on your PC and then begin the setup process from there instead. You'll be prompted to accept permissions instead of matching codes to link your devices.
I don't have a Windows PC
To use the Phone Link , you'll need a PC running Windows 10 or Windows 11.

How can I improve the connection between my Honor, Samsung, or OPPO device and PC?
To ensure the fastest, most reliable connection, your HONOR device and PC must be connected to the same trusted Wi-Fi network. This optimization isn't possible on a public connection—for example, in a coffee shop, in a hotel, or in an airport.
When you first connect to a Wi-Fi network through your Windows PC, you'll be prompted to set the connection to Public or Private (trusted). You can change this setting at any time.
Note
If your workplace controls your network connection, then these changes might not be available.
My device and PC are on the same Wi-Fi network, but they won't connect.
If your device and your PC are using the same Wi-Fi network, but you still see an error message, then there may be an issue with your router.

To disable wireless isolation:
- On most routers, look under Advanced Wireless Settings, and then disable AP Isolation. Check your router's documentation for more information.
