Use @ mentions to get someone's attention in Microsoft Teams Free
In Microsoft Teams Free, you can easily get someone’s attention in a group chat or community using @ mentions.
To @ mention someone in a group chat:
- 
            Go to the chat and type an @ into the Type a new message window. 
- 
            Start typing the person’s name directly after the @; any matching names in the chat will display above the Type a message window, and you can select the one you want. 
- 
            After selecting the person you want to mention, type your message, then select the Send 
The person you mentioned will receive a notification, which they can select to view your message. Â
To @ Everyone someone in a group chat:
- 
            Go to the chat and type an @Everyone into the Type a new message window. 
- 
            Type your message, then select the Send 
Everyone in your group chat will receive a notification, which they can select to view your message. Â
To @ mention someone in a community:
- 
            Go to the community and type an @ into the Type a new message window. 
- 
            Start typing the person’s name directly after the @; any matching names in the community will display above the Type a message window, and you can select the one you want. 
- 
            After selecting the person you want to mention, type your message, then select the Send 
The person you mentioned will receive a notification, which they can select to view your message.Â
