Make sure chats, links, and files are secure in Microsoft Teams
Stay safe with link and file protection in Teams
Note: Link and file protection in Teams is available as part of the public preview program and might undergo further changes before being released publicly. To get access to this and other upcoming features, switch to Teams public preview.
Links
To help keep everyone safe while working together, Teams checks links shared in chats, channels, and meeting messages. If a link is suspicious or unsafe, Teams will show a clear warning that the message has been flagged to both the person who sent it and the person who received it.
Recipient and sender notification:
Files
Teams will block messages that include certain high-risk file types—like executable files—that could be dangerous. If someone tries to send one of these files, Teams will stop the message and show a clear notice to both the sender and the receiver that the message has been blocked. The recipient won’t have access to the message content.
