Introduction

With Copilot, creating pages in SharePoint is now more efficient. This tool simplifies content creation by using AI-driven tools. There are two primary methods that you can create pages with Copilot:

This article explains how to create pages using open prompts. You can tell Copilot to generate content and design based on your words, which can include your goal, context, expectations, and sources. By using open prompts, you provide Copilot with detailed instructions about the purpose of the page, the relevant background information, what you hope to achieve, and any references or materials it should consider. Here's how:

Step-by-step guide to using open prompts

Step 1: Start creating a new page with Copilot

Select the +New button in the command bar of your SharePoint site and select Page with Copilot.

Step 2: Select the prompt box to create the page from open prompts

To create a page from open prompt, select the prompt box at the top of the page.

Step 3: Enter your prompt

For example, you might type "Create a resources page for Contoso Human Resources, featuring sections on policy documents, Contoso benefits, work at Contoso, learning and professional development, and reference materials."

Step 4: Generate Content

After entering your prompt, the Authoring Copilot will analyze your instructions and begin generating content. You will see sections of your page start to take shape, each tailored to your specifications.

Step 5: Review and Edit

As the content are generated, review each section and make any necessary edits. You can add, remove, or reorder sections to fit your needs.

Step 5: Preview your page

Preview your page to ensure everything looks perfect. Make any necessary adjustments to the content or layout.

Step 6: Publish

Once satisfied, save and publish your page.

Refine your page

After creating your page, you can use Design ideas to enhance its layout and design. Additionally, refine its content by rewriting with Copilot in the rich text editor. No matter how you create and improve your page, it is essential to preview it before publishing.

Creating pages from templates with prompts

While this article focuses on creating a page with open prompts, remember that you can also create pages using templates with prompts. Templates with prompts provide a great starting point with pre-built layouts, saving you time and effort.
