Dragon Medical One can simulate many types of keystrokes or actions that you can string together to create a Step-by-step command.

Here are the types of steps available.

Step type

Function

Open Application

Add this step to open a specific application. Specify the following:

  • Target: Enter the full path and name of the file.

  • Arguments: Enter the command line argument you want the file to open with; for example, a template.

  • Start in: Enter the path of the folder where the application should open.

  • Run as: Select the size of the application window (normal, minimized, or maximized).

Note: If the application is already running when you invoke this command, Dragon Medical One will switch to the application rather than open it.

Wait

This sets a waiting time in milliseconds to pause between steps (for example, 500 ms) for the application to open with the specified template (range: 50-10,000 ms).

Wait for Window

Pauses until a window with the specified title opens or the set waiting time expires. Specify the following:

  • Window title: Enter the title of the window you want to open.

  • Waiting time (ms): Set a waiting time in milliseconds to pause between steps. Default: 5000 ms. Range: 50-30,000 ms.

Run Step-by-step Command

Add an existing personal or shared Step-by-step command as a step in a new command.

Execute Voice Command

Add an existing voice command as a step.

Enter Text

Enter verbatim text to be written.

Note: For larger text blocks that you insert, use Auto-texts.

Press Keys

Enter the sequence of keys that you want to be pressed. You can also combine keys with modifiers (for example, A{TAB}B{UP}C{ADD}).

Press Hotkey

Select the keys you want to use for each shortcut. To reset a shortcut to default, delete your shortcut. You can use a single key (ESC or F1-F10) or a combination of keys. CMD and/or OPTION, with or without SHIFT, plus SPACE, A-Z, 0-9, and/or the symbols /-+[].

Microphone On

Turns the microphone on.

Microphone Off

Turns the microphone off.
