KB2923838 - FIX: Error message when you use the AMR tool for SQL Server 2014 CTP2 on SQL Server 2012

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You use the Analysis, Migrate and Report (AMR) tool for Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Community Technology Preview 2 (CTP2) on Microsoft SQL Server 2012.
  • You create a custom data collector.
  • You run a data collection.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

Note

SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005.
An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 11.0" Hresult: 0x80004005 Description: "The metadata could not be determined because statement 'EXEC(@sql);

      

Resolution

The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.
