Resident workflow

Reports created by Residents require a final signature from an Attending. The Resident workflow routes reports to the assigned Attending or Section for review and final approval.

Assign an Attending

1. When you initiate a report, the Select Attending dialog box appears.
2. Select the appropriate Attending or Section to assign responsibility for final signature.

Send a report for review

After dictating the report, send it to the assigned Attending or Section for review.

1. Select Send for Review on the Home tab or use the voice command Send for Review. The report is sent to the selected Attending or Section.

2. The report appears in one of the following queues:

   • The Attending’s Pending Signature queue,
   • The Section queue, if a Section was selected,

3. If configured, confirm the action when prompted.

Change Attending

The Change Attending option allows you to update the Attending physician assigned to a report. Use this option if the attending changes during the reporting process or if a correction is required.

Reassign a report

You can reassign a report using any of the following methods.

From the Report Editor

From the Review tab

1. Select the Review tab.
2. Select Change Attending.
3. In the Change Attending dialog box, select a new Attending or Section.

From the bottom of the window

1. In the Report Editor, double-click the Assigned Attending name at the bottom of the window.
2. In the Select Attending dialog box, select a new Attending or Section.

From the Explorer screen

1. From the Explorer screen, double-click the Assigned Attending name at the bottom of the window.
2. In the Select Attending dialog box, select a new Attending or Section.

Results grid

1. Right-click the report you want to change the Attending assignment for.
2. Select Change Attending, then select the desired Attending.

After reassignment, the report moves to the Pending Signature queue of the newly assigned Attending.
