Collaborate across companies and departments by joining Microsoft Teams meetings and events outside your org. Ensure a smooth experience regardless of your access level or organizational affiliation by joining as a guest, externally, or from different accounts.

Note: Depending on admin policies, event type, or event settings, external or anonymous join may not be supported.

Join as a guest

A guest is someone who belongs to a different org than the meeting organizer but has been invited by that org’s admin to have guest access.

Redeem your guest account

To join another org’s meeting as a guest, you’ll first need to redeem your guest account. Typically, redeeming guest access is a two-step process: first, the other org will invite you to be a guest. Next, you’ll receive an email invitation where you can accept access.

Sign in to your guest account

To sign in to your guest account:

  1. Launch a new Edge InPrivate window and navigate to the Teams sign in page.

  2. On the Teams sign-in page, select Sign-in options  Feature available to Office Insiders only.

  3. Select Sign into an organization.   Screenshot highlighting sign in options for Microsoft Teams.
