Remove members from your Microsoft family

Online

To remove a member from your Microsoft family, you must have an adult account. Then:

  • Go to account.microsoft.com/family and sign in with your Microsoft account.
  • To remove a child, find their name, then select Content restrictions. Turn off any settings you may have enabled. Then go back to your family’s page, find the child’s name again, and select More options > Remove from family.
This is a screenshot that shows an example of an adult account removing a child account from their Microsoft family.
  • If you want to remove a child because they’re now an adult, or if an adult account has been misclassified as a child account, they’ll need to verify their account.
  • To remove an adult, select Remove from family under the name of the person you’re trying to remove.
  • If you’re the only adult in the family and wish to leave, you’ll need to remove all kids first, then find your name and select Leave family.
