What's new in Outlook for Mac

What you'll see in Mail

When you sign in to Outlook for Mac , you'll go straight to your Inbox.

Description Actions
Message Create a new message by selecting New Email.
Folders list The list includes the folders in your mailbox. It may include other folders, such as Favorites and Archive folders.
Select Expand Expand to show the folders list, or select Collapse to hide it.
Control + click an existing folder and select New Folder.
Search box In the Search box, type the name or email address of a person or a keyword you want to search for, and press Enter or select .
Message list Messages in the current folder are listed. There might also be a visual alert that a message is unread, has an attachment, or is flagged.
At the top of the message list, you can choose how you want to view the list.
Select Filter and choose from the options High priority, Unread, Flag, To Me, Has Files, ⁠@⁠ Mentions Me, Categories or Sort By.
Each message also has a mini toolbar. For each message, you can delete it, pin it, flag the message.
Reading pane The message or conversation that you selected appears in the reading pane. Use the customizable toolbar above the reading pane to perform common actions such as deleting, archiving, sweeping, moving emails, categorizing, and so on.
Select More icon and select Customize Toolbar... to see additional actions such as Block, Report Message, Get Add-ins and so on.
My Day My Day brings your agenda and a 30 day calendar to the right side of the main canvas. Whether you like to focus on your day as a whole or prefer to see what's up next on the agenda, this helps you stay on top of your commitments without leaving your email. Choose between your work, shared, or other calendars, and take action right in the pane, such as joining a meeting or sending an RSVP.

What you'll see in Calendar

Keep track of appointments, meetings, or any other event from anywhere. Add, edit, or delete events using Day, Three Day, Working Week, Week, or Month views.

Description Actions
New Event Create a new event by selecting New Event. Then, fill in information about the event.
Your calendars Under My Calendars, Calendar is the default selection and displays the calendar in Week view. You can move forward or backward through calendar weeks using the arrows above the calendar. .
If you decide you don't want the calendar you created, right-click the calendar and select Delete.
Other calendars You can view more than one calendar at a time, add other calendars and select which to display, and create new calendars.
People's Calendars You can add shared calendars of people, view them, and add new events.
Groups You can view your groups calendars and add new events.
View options Choose your calendar view: On the right side of the command bar above the calendar, click the drop-down menu to select Day, Three Day, Working Week, Week, or Month views. To return to today's date, select Today on the left side of the command bar above the calendar.
Calendar pane Select a specific day in the calendar, and any appointment or event scheduled for that day is listed in this area. You also can select a day or time slot and create a new appointment or event.

What you'll see in People

Use the People page to find, view, create, and edit contacts and contact lists. .

Description Actions
Search box Start typing in the search box to find a contact or contact list.
New Contact Create a new contact by selecting New Contact. You can also right-click New Contact to create New Contact, New Contact List, New Email, and New Event.
Toolbar From the toolbar, you can take actions on the contact like Add to Favorites, Categorize, Edit, Delete, Email, Meeting, Chat, and so on.
Select the three dots to select Customize Toolbar... and add more options.
Contacts in the left pane Contacts: Shows your contacts from all folders.
Right-click the contact for more actions like Open, Edit, New Email to Contact, New Meeting with Contact, New IM to Contact, Categorise, and so on.
