Get started with vision in Microsoft 365 Copilot

Vision in Microsoft 365 Copilot lets you share your desktop screen or your mobile device's camera and ask Copilot about what you’re sharing. Copilot analyzes the visual content in real time, giving you insights, explanations, and guidance grounded in both the shared content and your work data.

Note

You need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license to use vision in Copilot. Vision is only available during a voice conversation with Copilot.

Try these starter tasks with these prompts

Once you’re sharing, talk to Copilot the way you’d ask a colleague. Here are a few ways to begin:

  • What are the key trends in this dashboard, and how do they compare with the report I reviewed last month?
  • Look at this banner and the feedback I received. What changes should I make first?
  • I’m stuck on this screen. Walk me through the next steps to complete this task.

Tips for best results using vision in Copilot

  • Keep the content you’re asking about on screen and avoid switching windows too quickly so Copilot answers about the right thing.
  • Make sure your microphone is on. Vision works through voice.
  • Each vision conversation is independent. Copilot doesn’t reuse screens or camera input from earlier chats.
