Use your voice to chat with Microsoft 365 Copilot on your mobile device

Work doesn’t stop at your desk. Voice in Microsoft 365 Copilot keeps you productive anywhere: hands-free on mobile or multitasking at your desktop. Grounded in your work and web data, it helps you:

  • Prepare and manage your day: review your calendar, get meeting details, and triage email quickly, whether commuting or setting up for the day.
  • Think out loud: speak ideas aloud, and Copilot organizes them, searches for info, and turns thoughts into drafts.

Voice turns Copilot into your thought partner that is by your side anywhere you need it. Just say “Hey, Copilot” or tap Icon for starting a new voice chat. in the prompt box to start a voice conversation.

Start a voice chat with Copilot on your mobile device

Note

The first time you access any of Copilot's voice features, you may be prompted to grant Copilot access to your microphone. You can manage this setting in your device settings. Minimize background noise for accuracy.

  1. Download and open the Microsoft 365 Copilot app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), then sign in to your Microsoft 365 account.
  2. Tap Icon for starting a new voice chat. in the prompt box or say "Hey, Copilot" to start a voice conversation.
  3. Speak with Copilot, and interrupt, redirect, or ask follow-up questions at any time.
  4. To mute or end the conversation, tap Icon of a microphone to mute a voice chat. , Icon for ending a voice chat. , or say “Goodbye, Copilot” as needed. At that point, Copilot stops listening.

Always review transcribed or generated content for accuracy, as AI may occasionally misinterpret speech or produce errors.

Note

Voice conversations may be time limited and will disconnect automatically after a set period.
