We recommend you use a combination of OneDrive and Teams to store your files and share them with employees, guests, and customers.

Store and share personal files

A best practice is not to keep shared files on your computer. Instead, use OneDrive to store and share files.

Save from inside an app

  1. Open any Office document, presentation, or worksheet.

  2. In the upper left, set the autosave toggle to On.

    Turn on Autosave option

  3. Select the OneDrive account that shows your business email address and enter a name for your file.

Files you save to OneDrive can be accessed from Office.com or in the OneDrive folder on your device.

Share a single personal file from an app

  1. Open any Office document, presentation, or worksheet.

  2. Select Share in the upper right, and then select Share.

    Select Share from your file

  3. In the prompt, select the permissions you want to grant to your recipients (Can edit, Review-only, or View-only)

  4. Enter the email addresses of the recipients and an optional message, and then select Send.

Tip: You can share the same file multiple times with different people, each with different permissions.
