File storage and sharing
We recommend you use a combination of OneDrive and Teams to store your files and share them with employees, guests, and customers.
Store and share personal files
A best practice is not to keep shared files on your computer. Instead, use OneDrive to store and share files.
Save from inside an app
-
Open any Office document, presentation, or worksheet.
-
In the upper left, set the autosave toggle to On.
-
Select the OneDrive account that shows your business email address and enter a name for your file.
Files you save to OneDrive can be accessed from Office.com or in the OneDrive folder on your device.
Share a single personal file from an app
-
Open any Office document, presentation, or worksheet.
-
Select Share in the upper right, and then select Share.
-
In the prompt, select the permissions you want to grant to your recipients (Can edit, Review-only, or View-only)
-
Enter the email addresses of the recipients and an optional message, and then select Send.
Tip: You can share the same file multiple times with different people, each with different permissions.
