Present content from a Mac
Important
Please be aware of a known issue with the sharing experience affecting sharing indicators and control panels when using DisplayLink or other versions of a docking station on MacOS 14 and higher.
If you're using a Mac with the latest operating system, first give Teams permission to record your computer's screen before you present. Teams will prompt you to allow screen recording the first time you share your screen.
To allow screen recording and start presenting content in Teams:
Select Share
in your meeting controls. If Teams prompts you to allow screen recording, select Allow in the pop-up.
- If you need to change screen recording permissions on your device, select Open System Settings in the pop-up.
- Under Screen & System Audio Recording, make sure the Microsoft Teams toggle is turned on.
- If you miss the prompt, go to Apple Menu > System Settings > Privacy & Security to access these settings.
- Return to your meeting and select Allow on the pop-up.
Select Share
again from your meeting controls.Select a window or file to start sharing it.
Note
- If you're using Teams on the web, make sure you also grant screen recording permission to your browser.
- With the release of macOS Sequoia 15.2, you may notice prompts indicating that Teams is accessing the screen. This change is part of Apple's enhanced security measures to inform you when applications request screen recording permissions.
Share your screen or specific windows using the built-in native macOS sharing experience. This is an opt-in experience only available on Mac devices.
To turn on the native macOS sharing experience:
- Select Settings and more
> Settings
in Teams. - In General
> Screen sharing
, select Use macOS content sharing.
The change will take effect immediately—no need to restart Teams.
Note
Giving and taking control of presented content aren't supported in the native macOS sharing experience.
Zoom in to shared content
To get a better look at shared content, press and drag it to see different areas. To zoom in or out of shared content, use the buttons in the corner of your meeting window: [+] to zoom in and [-] to zoom out.
You can also try the following:
- Pinch in or out on your trackpad.
- Use Teams keyboard shortcuts.
- Hold the Ctrl key and scroll with your mouse.
Note
Mac trackpads don't support zoom in meetings. If you're on a Mac, use another option. If you're using Linux, you can't share or take control of shared content.
