KB2984628 - FIX: Auto-statistics creation increases the compilation time for natively compiled stored procedure in SQL Server 2014

Applies To
SQL Server 2014 Developer - duplicate (do not use) SQL Server 2014 Enterprise - duplicate (do not use) SQL Server 2014 Standard - duplicate (do not use)

Symptoms

Assume that you have the Auto Create Statistics database option enabled in Microsoft SQL Server 2014. When you create a natively compiled stored procedure that triggers the automatic creation of missing statistics, a self-deadlock that significantly increases the compilation time occurs.

Resolution

The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.

Cumulative Update 3 for SQL Server 2014 /en-us/help/2984923
