As a community admin, you can create campaigns for your community members that focus on projects, interests, and events specific to your community.

Viva Engage offers two kinds of campaigns. Official campaigns are available to everyone in the organization and must be created by a Microsoft 365 Global admin, Engage admin, or corporate communicator. Community campaigns are created by community admins exclusively for their community members.

Community members can post to community campaigns by using the campaign hashtag in the publisher window on either the community page or the campaign page.

Create a community campaign

  1. From the community page, select the plus (+) button on the Campaigns tile.

  2. Complete the fields with your campaign information.

For #hashtag enter the campaign name.
Choose a unique hashtag that's not in current use by another campaign.

For Default publisher select the post type you prefer that people use for campaign posts. The publisher window will default to showing this post type.

  3. Your campaign is in a draft state and is saved to the community campaign hub. Until you publish your campaign, you can continue to refine it: add a cover photo, a goal, and pin links. Only you can see it until you publish it.

All community campaigns are saved to the community's campaign hub. Community members can only access published, active campaigns here. Whereas community admins can find published campaigns and unpublished drafts still in progress. Unpublished, or draft, campaigns are only visible to the community admin that created the campaign.

  1. Go to a community page. Published campaigns appear in the right rail.

  2. Below the published campaigns, select View all campaigns.
