My calls or meetings keep dropping in Microsoft Teams

If you’re experiencing multiple dropped calls or you’re getting disconnected from a Teams meeting, it's likely due to network issues. You might encounter error messages like:

  • "Oh dear! Your call has dropped. Please try again."

  • "Please hold on while we try to reconnect you," or "I was placed on hold during the meeting."

  • "Hold on. It looks like something went wrong. We're trying to get you back in the meeting."

  • "Try joining again, or dial in. To join the meeting, you might need to call in on your phone due to a network issue."

In the above cases, first check your internet connection. Make sure both the caller and callee have a stable connection with adequate throughput.

For further troubleshooting, follow the steps in this article: Troubleshoot User Call Quality Problems.

Additionally, you can check for ongoing service incidents here: Microsoft 365 Service Status.

It's important to note that call drops can also occur if you’re using non-certified devices which aren't supported. For example, a call can drop when clicking on a call notification, or when resuming a call from hold. For the best experience please ensure your headsets and/or other audio devices are officially certified: Teams Certified Devices.

Finally, consider restarting the Teams application to resolve temporary issues and make sure you're using the latest Teams version.
