To distribute content to small groups within your classroom, create student groups in OneNote Class Notebook. Student groups work well for differentiated instruction: send specific materials to reading groups, lab partners, or project teams.

  1. Navigate to your class notebook. If you need help finding it, see Find my Class Notebooks.
  2. Select Class Notebook in the OneNote toolbar.
  3. Select Distribute Page.
  4. Select Group Distribution.
  5. To distribute to an existing student group, check the box next to the group name. To create a new student group, select + New group.
  6. Select Add, name your group, choose its student members, and select Save.
  7. Select Next, choose the student section where you want to distribute the page, and select Distribute.
  8. To change groups later, return to Student Group and use the checkboxes to Edit group members or Delete a group. Edits are saved as you make them.
