Grace Period

The Grace Period is a configurable window of time after you sign a report but before it is sent to your EMR/EHR system. During this window, you can recall and edit a signed report without needing to create an addendum. This allows you to quickly fix errors or make last-minute adjustments before the report is finalized and transmitted.

Your PowerScribe One Administrator may configure your system to allow this extra time. When the Grace Period is enabled, you can open the Signed Today queue in the Explorer screen and check whether a report is still in Ready status (shown with a single arrow icon). If it is, the report is still eligible to be recalled for additional dictation or editing.

Note

By default, the Grace Period is set to 2 minutes; however, your PowerScribe One Administrator can adjust this setting.

To open and edit a ready report:

  1. From the Explorer screen, select the Signed Today reporting queue.
  2. In the results grid, locate the report you want to recall and confirm it is eligible for recall.
  3. Open the report in Report Editor.
  4. Make the necessary revisions.
  5. Sign the report again to finalize your updates.
