Note
In web or embedded apps, keyboard shortcuts work only when Dragon Copilot is in focus. In the desktop app, shortcuts work from anywhere.
If the field is supported, text appears directly where your cursor is. If not, Dragon Copilot saves your dictation as a memo so you can copy it into your EHR.
Dictation best practices
- Position your cursor where you want your text to be typed. It's helpful to think that your text goes where your cursor is blinking.
- Select the dictation icon or your microphone button to turn the microphone on.
- Wait until the microphone is on before speaking.
- Begin dictating, speaking naturally as if you were talking to someone in person.
- Dictate in complete sentences and include punctuation.
- Pause briefly before and after saying a command so Dragon knows that you're not dictating text. Learn more about Dragon Copilot commands.
- When you're finished dictating, select the dictation icon or microphone button again to turn off your microphone so Dragon doesn't capture extra words.
