Quick start guide for Dragon Medical One users

Welcome to Dragon Copilot. This quick start guide gives you the basics for using Dragon Copilot for dictation. Follow the links provided for a deeper dive into each topic.

Access Dragon Copilot

Launch the Dragon Copilot desktop app to use Dragon Copilot as you would Dragon Medical One. Find the Dragon Copilot icon on your workstation, or use the link provided by your Dragon or Microsoft administrator and sign in with your Dragon Copilot username and password.

Note

You can sign in to Dragon Copilot on the desktop, web, or mobile app at the same time. Your work automatically syncs across all surfaces to give you flexibility of where and how you work with Dragon Copilot. But remember to sign out if you work on a shared workstation.

Manage your desktop view

Dragon Copilot offers multiple views so you can position the app where it best fits your workflow.

Switch desktop views

  • Select the down arrow to switch between standard and narrow view. (Dragon Copilot opens in standard view).

  • Select the compact view icon to use a smaller, movable window.

Dictation vs. ambient recording

Easily configure the microphone to capture dictation or speech by switching its mode. On the microphone bar, there's a Dictation option which, when checked, enables dictation mode. On mobile, you can find this dictation option in the mic settings next to the mic button.

  • Dictation: Dictation mode is checked. The microphone is now configured to capture dictation.

  • Ambient: Dictation mode is unchecked. The microphone is now configured to capture your conversation.

Tip

Check the status of the Dictation checkbox before selecting the microphone to confirm which mode will start.

Microphone mode is remembered when switching between existing sessions on your worklist.

When a new session is created, the microphone mode defaults to ambient for the session.
