Whether you're working in Dragon Copilot, an EHR, a document, or reading an article on a web page, use natural language to complete common tasks faster and easier.

At a glance

What focus mode does

Focus mode brings AI actions to you, where you’re working, so you can stay within your current workflow. With focus mode you can:

  • Retrieve information from available content.
  • Create content.
  • Summarize information.
  • Edit and reform text.
  • Update copied forward documentation.
  • Create or revise attestations.

Use natural language prompts

No need to learn computer-speak. Tell Dragon Copilot, in your own words, what you want it to do, and it goes to work. Here are some examples: “Give me a referral letter for Dr. Smith.” “Add peanuts to allergies.” “What was the patient’s last LDL?” “Make the A&P bulleted.” Read on for common workflows and additional examples.

How to use focus mode

Start focus mode

  1. Say Start focus or select the focus mode button in Copilot chat.

  2. Select some content or place your cursor in a supported application, such as your EHR, Microsoft Word, Outlook, or SharePoint.

  3. Say or type your request in Copilot chat.

  4. Say Submit prompt.

Your results appear in Dragon Copilot or they happen within the application, depending on what you asked Dragon Copilot to do.

Stop focus mode

  • Say Stop focus.
  • Or select the focus mode button again.

Tips for best results

  • Be specific. Detailed instructions often produce more useful results. Instead of summarize this, try summarize this assessment in two sentences.
  • Select content before requesting edits. For editing, formatting, or summarization tasks, select the content before submitting your request.
  • Review generated content. Always review AI-generated content and verify the information before using it in patient documentation or other records. Ensure that the generated content accurately reflects the care provided.
  • Use focus mode as an in-workflow assistant. Focus mode is designed to support your workflow, not replace your professional judgment. Always follow your organization's documentation and compliance requirements.

Optional shortcuts
