Add co-organizers to a meeting in Microsoft Teams

Add up to 10 co-organizers to help manage your meeting. Co-organizers are shown as organizers in the meeting participant list. Their permissions are very similar to those of a meeting organizer. 

Co-organizer permissions

Co-organizers can: Co-organizers can't:
Access and change meeting options Manage the meeting recording
Manage breakout rooms Remove or change the meeting organizer's role
Bypass the lobby Edit invitation info and send updated invites to attendees
Admit people from the lobby during a meeting
Lock the meeting
Present content
Change another participant’s meeting role
Change meeting options during a channel meeting*
End meeting for all

Note

  • Co-organizers must be invited to a channel meeting to change its meeting options. 
  • External participants can't be made co-organizers.
  • Co-organizers must be from the same org as the meeting organizer to manage breakout rooms.

Add co-organizers to a meeting

To add co-organizers to a meeting you scheduled: 

  1. Select Calendar Teams Calendar tab icon in Teams.
  2. Select an event.
  3. Select View event teams-expand-icon .
  4. Make sure the people you want to add as co-organizers are added as required attendees.
  5. Select Options Settings icon .
  6. In Roles People or Show Participants button  > Choose co-organizers, search and select their names from the dropdown menu. 
  7. Select Apply.

Note

Co-organizers must be in the same org as the meeting organizer. They can also use a guest account in the same org.
